A Platform to Promote Building Renovation is Live
We are pleased to introduce the product we have created under the reMODULEES project – a platform designed to support the building renovations. Find the demo here. The (energy) renovation of buildings involves different actors with different motivations and skills. To fully understand the whole renovation ecosystem, we conducted a survey and needs analysis of stakeholders, including demand, providers, public and financial sectors. Our work resulted in value propositions for different stakeholders, which have been fundamental in developing this platform.
The reMODULEES platform offers support for each stage of the building renovation process, including information gathering, planning, implementation, and quality control. We have identified key challenges and constraints at each step in the process, which were obtained through ethnographic research conducted in the participating countries.
You are invited to visit https://re-modulees.five.es and see our results and the tools developed across Europe. Additional tools can be proposed by anyone but are subject to approval by the regional administrator.
We are proud to connect with the Slovenian Building Cadastre, which enables to search by address and use the available data to indicate potential savings from energy renovation. This integration allows our tool to direct the user to EnSvet’s energy advice service for detailed information, especially on available subsidies.
Experts can share articles and experiences on building renovation, with some examples already available. In February 2024, together with SaveTheHomes, we organised a closing event in Brussels, which has already shown the relevance of the one-stop-shop concept that is about to take off.
The newly approved Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, as of April 2024, imposed obligations to set up one-stop shops for building renovations. In Slovenia, we have an excellent starting point with EnSvet consultancy offices and the RES OSS Points. We will take the concept to the next level through the approved Life Renov-AID project, launching this autumn in collaboration with key Slovenian stakeholders.
Recently, Assistant Director Dr. Lakić successfully defended his thesis on the impact of energy performance certificates on home purchase decisions. We expect that the adoption of the EPBD will help to introduce a new generation of energy performance certificates in Slovenia, which will also include financial indicators.
