One-stop-shops for deep renovation of buildings in the EU
On 22.2.2024, we took part in a presentation of the results of two projects at the European Economic and Social Committee building. The topics were related to the establishment of one-stop-shops for building renovations, as already foreseen by the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive of 2010, and reinforced by the new EPBD, which will be published shortly. The key highlights of the event were as follows.
Digital Revolution: re-MODULEES showcased a cutting-edge digital platform that creates standard modules for energy efficiency and clean energy solutions in Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Spain. Working version available here. You are welcome to try it out. For Slovenia, we are also drawing on data from the property register, so that preliminary renovation proposals can be more specific.
Experience has been shown from EU cities that already have one-stop-shops in place in the Netherlands, Spain and Slovenia, all in the framework of the Save the Homes project. For the latter, we are working with MOL, which is putting its climate neutrality efforts into practice in the Climate Office. We have held a citizens’ event in the latter, the EnSvet energy advisory office has now moved in, and a one-stop shop for RES, supported by Borzen, is starting to operate.
