Third General Meeting of the ECOLOOP Project
The Agricultural Institute of Slovenia (KIS) hosted the first day of the meeting at its headquarters in Ljubljana. The agenda began with key updates from the general management work packages, followed by presentations on dissemination activities and technical developments in Work Packages 3 and 4, which are currently developing advanced technologies and IT systems to support innovative energy and agricultural circular solutions. In the afternoon, participants went to the KIS pilot site Infrastructure centre Jablje, where a microbiogas power plant was demonstrated. The plant uses slurry and agricultural waste to generate heat and electricity, and it will soon begin capturing biomethane produced during digestion to power agricultural machinery—an innovative step toward renewable energy in farming.
Following the site visit, the group took a brief trip to the iconic Lake Bled before returning to Ljubljana for the evening. The second day of the meeting was held at the University of Ljubljana, hosted by IRI UL. The discussion shifted to recent developments in the economic and social support work package, which is led by IRI UL, as well as detailed updates from the various pilot sites across Europe. The meeting concluded with closing remarks and next steps presented by ETRA, the project coordinator, establishing a clear path for the next phase of collaboration.
