First Consortium Meeting of PREVENT Project
After the kick-off meeting at the end of May, where the consortium gathered at the headquarters of the project coordinator ETRA in Valencia, this time it met in Dresden, at the premises of project partner Fraunhofer.
The meeting took place on Wednesday, 28 October, and Thursday, 29 October 2026. IRI UL leads the Slovenian pilot in the project in cooperation with Elektro Ljubljana and the company Avant d.o.o. On the first day, it therefore took part in the presentations in work package WP1, which covers the design of the pilot sites, the preparation of documents for technical partners, and the architecture design of the individual pilots. The Slovenian pilot consists of three separate pilots, one of which is also located at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. There, IRI UL, in cooperation with Avant, will install electric vehicle chargers that will enable bidirectional exchange of electricity with the grid (Vehicle-to-Grid, V2G).
On the second day, IRI UL presented the current state of the charging infrastructure and the timeline for building additional chargers at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. In addition, Fraunhofer, the leader of the German pilot, presented its innovation in electric vehicle charging: a flush-mounted charger that rises from the ground during use and otherwise stays hidden underground, taking up no usable surface area.
At the meeting, we concluded that, after six months, the Prevent project is well established and progressing according to plan.
