MAG-NET will focus on people-centred solutions in Celje, Slovenia
The MAG-NET project, in which IRI UL participates under the coordination of the Municipality of Celje, was launched this December. And so, on Thursday, 12 December, a unique kick-off event took place at the Narodni dom in Celje, which was also attended by part of the IRI team.
The event was held under the slogan “Together for Celje, a City of Opportunities”, as the MAG-NET project aims to create an urban innovation network that will reverse the talent drain in Celje and Prebold and attract and retain young talent in the local area.
In the project, a consortium of 13 partners will address the question of how to make Celje and Prebold even more inviting places to live for local and non-local people through the adoption of people-centred solutions and processes.
Based on the development of the urban real-life learning lab methodology, IRI will help the “challenge owners” (stakeholders most qualified and interested in the development of a specific thematic area) to design solutions that directly respond to five key urban challenges: affordable housing, sustainable mobility, urban atmosphere, industry 4.0 and energy communities.
The opening ceremony, which attracted a wide range of stakeholders from the local community, business and politics, featured several eminent speakers, and the programme was particularly distinguished by stimulating talks with three well-known Celje natives and a musical programme by Trio Firšt.
For IRI UL, participation in the project is particularly important in terms of establishing an interdisciplinary approach and people-centred solutions and processes. We look forward to the challenges and to working together to co-create solutions for an even better quality of life in Celje and Prebold.
