Second HAVEN Project Consortium Meeting Focuses on Progress and Future Plans
The HAVEN project consortium gathered on January 21st and 22nd for the second project meeting, which was organized by the Research Institute INEGI in Porto. The main purpose of this meeting was to review the work done so far and to plan the tasks for the next six months. The meeting was held in a hybrid format, with all project partners participating.
The meeting began with a presentation of Work Package 8, followed by other work packages, including Work Package 2, where IRI also presented its previous work and future plans. IRI is involved in Task 2.3 within this work package. As a research institute, IRI will prepare a preliminary economic feasibility study, based on which the partners in Work Package 5 will decide on the final size of the hybrid energy storage systems. Additionally, based on the initial findings, business models will also be defined within this work package.
The first day ended with a project dinner, during which we were served the traditional Portuguese dish, francesinha. The dinner was accompanied by a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, where interesting conversations were plentiful.
IRI was also actively involved on the second day of the meeting, where, as the leaders of tasks 7.3 and 7.4 within Work Package 7, we conducted the project kick-off. The main task of IRI within tasks 7.3 and 7.4 will be the creation of business models and their validation. In addition, on the second day, IRI also conducted a workshop on the preliminary feasibility study, where we presented the methodology and the questionnaires through which we will gather the necessary information for the preparation of the economic tool. At the same time, we encouraged the partners to collaborate and understand each other, which will be key to the success of the project in Work Package 5.
After the workshop, the meeting organizers (INEGI) took us on a guided tour of the research institute, where they introduced us to the main research areas and shared the most interesting innovations they have developed over the years at their institute.
