The SynGRID Summer School is a unique opportunity to explore the Future of Energy Systems through innovations in renewable energy integration and smart grid management. Description of the project and summer school
The SynGRID project aims to strengthen innovation in Croatia, Greece, and Slovenia by building on advancements from Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects. Focused on enhancing the management and integration of renewable energy in low-voltage grids, SynGRID fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration among leading research institutions and local beneficiaries.
Join us at the week-long SynGRID Summer School to explore innovative developments in renewable energy and smart grid management, engage with experts, and advance your understanding of energy systems transition challenges and solutions.
The SynGRID Summer School program offers an engaging mix of coursework, expert lectures, and social/cultural activities. Participants will attend sessions led by distinguished academics as well as professionals from leading energy companies, focusing on topics related to renewable energy integration and smart grid management. The program also includes a site visit to different progressive Slovenian energy-related companies and a guided city tour of Ljubljana.

Suitable candidates
You should apply to Summer School if you are a:
- student (Bachelor, Master or PhD),
- researcher from any discipline,
- young professional from governmental institutions (ministries, authorities and agencies) or energy companies,
- member of a think tank,
- member of NGOs, etc.
Profile
The candidates should be fluent in written and spoken English to be considered for an admission.
Selection criteria
- Motivational Letter: A letter of motivation (maximum 2 pages) explaining why you wish to participate in the SynGRID Summer School. Highlight how your background, including education and prior experience (if any), has equipped you to make the most of this opportunity and contribute meaningfully to the program.
- CV: Relevant Experience and Knowledge: Demonstrated prior experience and expertise in the field of energy.
- Geographic Balance: Representation from diverse geographic regions.
- Gender Balance: Commitment to ensuring gender diversity.
The number of accepted candidates for the SynGRID summer school 2025 is 20.
