Content useful for the renovation and construction of buildings with enterprise

At the Green Transition in Construction conference organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a representative of IRI UL presented topics useful for broader aspects of building renovation and construction, as it is necessary to start renovating 3% of the building stock annually, but today we are below 1.2%. Thus, the aspects of material cycling and industrialisation of building renovation in practice complemented well the content of other speakers.

The industrialisation aspect of renovation was illustrated with the example of INFINITE in Ravne na Koroškem, while the circulation of matter at the level of materials, components and systems was extensively elaborated in Drive0.

The MOPE representative outlined future regulations and targets, which is in line with the wave of renovations announced some time ago and in the direction of zero-emission buildings. He touched upon the upgrading of energy performance certificates to include renovation pathways, as we have been working on in U-cert and the ongoing CrossCert project. To facilitate the work of decision makers and other members of the energy performance ecosystem, we have prepared infographics summarising key useful content. For the smart readiness indicator, which is already described in the technical guidance, mentioned that it will not be mandatory in the first phase. At IRI, we have already provided training on these topics and participated in testing during the development phase and developed the tool. The representative of the Chamber of Managers mentioned the challenges of organising renovations in the context of dispersed ownership, which we have been addressing by involving people in the development processes with our Applied Anthropological Research Department. We have presented also a platform to promote building renovation.
